What I’m Watching

November 20, 2012 by Laica

Hi Thundie’s Prattle readers! It’s been a while.

I can’t believe almost a full year has passed since my last post. 2012 has been a year of great dramas, many of which I watched and wanted to write about. Unfortunately this has not been such a good year for me in real life; I spent most of it struggling with my health, repeatedly crashing again just when I thought I might be getting better, and starting the whole cycle again. On the upside I had a lot of time to watch dramas while I was convalescing – and I have a lot of half-finished drafts of drama rants and reviews languishing in my hard-drive.

So I told myself this time I would finish, no matter what! And instead of biting off more than I could chew with my limited energy these days, I decided to do a brief review/first impressions of each of the currently airing dramas I’m watching right now. Also, fair warning: I’m rusty because I haven’t done blogging of any sort for a long time, so please forgive me if this is very rambly and long.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Thundie’s Prattle!

January 13, 2012 by Laica

Hi everyone!

Thundie’s Prattle turns three today. I haven’t been around since the beginning, but it’s very exciting how much this site has grown even since I discovered it. It’s all a credit to thundie’s creativity, her eloquence, and her gracious and generous spirit. We’ve been missing her lately, so what better way to mark this milestone than to share how special she is to us and what we love about Thundie’s Prattle? A few of us guest bloggers got together to celebrate thundie and this wonderful haven she’s created, where we can all spazz, rant and rave about the dramas that have us so completely under their spell. Thank you thundie, and congratulations!

Ten Laws of the Kdramaverse: A Survival Guide for Heroines

December 8, 2011 by Laica

[Don't ask me where this post came from. I think my brain has rotted from watching too many dramas.]

So you’re on your way to work one day, rushing to the bus stop because you’re late, and something nags at the corner of your mind. It has to do with your slightly dowdy short haircut, you think as you cross the street, your sudden burst of goodwill and patience toward others. Then there’s the recent string of bad luck you’ve had: man trouble, financial trouble, family trouble—

Real true love in dramas

April 22, 2011 by Laica

(By Laica)

{I’m excited to introduce another guest blogger to my readers. Some of you may know Laica from the Dramabeans’ Open Thread where she’s a regular commenter. I find Laica’s writing thoughtful and eloquent and am confident you’ll love her posts. –thundie}

[Hello Thundie’s Prattle readers! My name is Laica. Thundie has invited me to be a guest blogger here on TP and I am super excited and extremely honoured to be in such an awesome company of writers (also a little nervous). I hope you will enjoy my posts.]

Ask a devoted addict why he or she loves kdramas, and you’ll likely get one of a variety of answers: the unique storylines, the language and culture, the length and format, the pretty… or probably a combination of all of these. Plus a special magic only kdramas have, which keeps us glued to our screens, laughing, crying, at times yelling, and then doing it all over again (sometimes sitting through some truly atrocious dramas).
