Your turn
Prattling’s no fun when done alone. I would love to know WHAT YOU’RE WATCHING. As long as it’s a Korean drama or movie, rant and rave away. This page is all yours!
Psst, do post a warning if your comment is spoilery. Thanks!

Let me start. ^^
I’m watching Job Well Done (2009) and Eight Days – The Mystery of Jeongjo’s Assassination (2007). JWD is a family drama and will be at least 50 episodes, I think. Eight Days is a 10-episode sageuk. Am really enjoying both, although for vastly different reasons. The former is very funny and Eom Ki-joon is beyond adorable. The latter is complex and thrilling; production values are amazing.
How about you? What are you watching?
^ Awwww…that heartwarming moment in MISA.
I’m watching C&A (the headache inducing drama as mentioned by Dahee…hehehe..) and Hateful But Once Again.
C&A I’m watching for SJS, HJM and the acting. Don’t think I can say much about the storyline…you guys will know. It’s strange how I find myself enjoying the episodes while watching them…and later on, I end up thinking they’re just EHHH….
Hateful on the other hand is so much better. The premise of the drama is cliche and typical. But the exchange/interactions between the characters are just so interesting…and addictive. A bit slow at parts, but a solid drama nevertheless..
So Eight Days has subtitle already? Great ! Check it immediately!
I’m watching Road Fighter. Now I kick and punch everything in front of my eyes ^^
Great idea, Thundie! ^^
I’m watching Job Well Done and Cain and Abel. Am about to start continuing my watch of Worlds Within, as well.
Job Well Done is adorable, and always manages to put me in a great mood. I am really, really in love with Eom Ki Joon, not to mention the Eom Ki Joon/Chae Rim pairing (episode seven was just…SQUEE!).
As for Cain and Abel…As ripgal mentioned above, I have said that it’s a headache-inducing drama, hehe. But Jisub’s acting is awesome, and Han Ji Min is really very cute now (not at all OTT or annoyingly selfish anymore!). It reminds me of a mixture of MISA and Rebirth…only in a silly, overly melodramatic, badly-written way. If that even makes any sense.
This is not about what I’m watching, but what I’m gonna watch.
Painter of the Wind is out in the stores! Legit DVD set with English subs, yay!
I’m gonna wait for prices to drop a bit before buying the set, but this is one drama I really want to finish. Stopped at ep 7 about three months ago. I miss its gorgeousness.
Hi thunder! though it’s black saturday in my country, I still have to finish watching “hyena first, oh really love Oh Man Sok!
I’m still waiting for my copy of Cain and Abel dvd, It doesn’t matter wether I finish it or not but but my own copy is impt.
Wasn’t planning on it, but somehow I started rewatching Goodbye Solo last night. This was my first fansub project with WITHS2 about three years ago and I loved the drama so much I bought the limited edition set. Never got around to enjoying the gorgeous set until last night.
Wow. This one needs to go into my Top 10. It is sooooo GOOD! And Chun Jung-myung is LOVE.
May I join? keke.

Finishing up C&A (17?) I must say that I didn’t think that they’ll be able to lengthen the story.. I thought there was more to add but it was all about the Center.. (other stuffs too)
Brilliant Legacy (just started a few days ago.. currently on 2? i might say 1. watched 2 with missing lines) the drama is very exciting! Talking about the plot itself with the crap mom.
HBOA (20..) My feelings about this are in your review, thundie.
Iljimae MBC — kinda boring with the narrator thingy but have to continue to appreciate.
JobWellDone! The Best 50+ drama I’ve ever watched! Funny and great acting.
Sons of Sol Pharmacy house, You Are My Destiny are my etc. dramas… watching it when i have nothing to do.
That Fool, CheonChu, GH2 & Terroir are the dramas I hope to find something better.
–whoa! That was so many! happy that I can still understand all it’s plot! keke.
Wow sayroo, you’re watching a lot! I’m envious.
Now that Cain & Abel’s subs are all done, it’s time for me to catch up.
For now I’m aiming to finish Again My Love (watched ep 16)and Scale of Providence (finished 1-3). Both are your projects, LOL. For a new fansub group, HaruHaru is really impressive. Well done!
thundie, I know! ㅋㅋ I have tons of dramas still needs to be watched! haha! luckily I was able to sustain all and enjoy! haha!
Omo! I know! C&A subs is already finished! People here are already watching Episode 20.. Theyre ahead of me! keke!
Haru2subS members are very hardworking Im impressed with all fansub groups.
I recently rewatched Snowman and it’s still lingering in my mind. I had originally watched it back in 2005 for Gong Hyo-jin and I recently had sudden craving to rewatch it so I began to watch it again and it felt like I was watching it for the first time all over again.. I watched it non-stop whenever I had time.
I know a lot of people were turned off by the story of a girl loving her sister’s husband and that love was a bit of obsessive nature, but the script, directing and acting all made it convincing. I didn’t really like the ending and it does get emotionally draining toward the end because of the subject itself that the drama deals with, but I think it’s really well-made and Jo Jae-hyun, Gong Hyo-jin and Kim Rae-won (Oh Yeon-su is also good too but her role is relatively small) are phenomenal.
Jo Jae-hyun is making me go back and rewatch Piano, which used to be my favorite K-drama before ROYOW came by. He’s such a good actor!!!
Lately, I’ve watched a lot of brilliant films like Joint Security Area, A Bittersweet Life, Maundy Thursday, Duelist, Silmido, Shiri, The Good The Bad The Weird & Welcome To Dongmakgol. I particularly enjoy the last one because I have no clue what the film is all about & watching was just based on it’s box office data. But the film, was really brilliant and the director immediately become one of m favourite and when I did some research on him, I found out that admires Hayao Miyazaki (The Genius behind Studio Gihbli’s awesome films) so it’s like a semi-explanation why I like WTD.
For kdrama’s, the last one I saw was On Air which I really liked a lot. For me it’s a must watch drama if it has complex character/s, include one or two of my favourite stars & would have lots of action (not literally) in the plot and On Air definitely met my expectations. What I really loved about it was the continuous mockery of the writer to herself & some other institutions for which I think was brave thing to do and very original.
So there, I have to go now and watch some good movies & browse more sites because I have an early shift tomorrow.. harhar
cheers people ^o^
amy, I really need to get down to Piano before 2010 rolls around. I downloaded this with English subs a long time ago. I have two pals whose opinions I value highly. One of them loves Piano and the other absolutely hates it!
Wow, Sly, you’re watching a lot. JSA was one of my first k-movies and I really liked it. Must make a mental note to buy The Good, The Bad, and The Weird; it’s out in the stores. I have all the other movies you mentioned (all watched except Shiri and Silmido).
Here’s what I’ve been watching lately.
~ A stash of 40+ k-movies that I’m trying to clear. (And I still keep adding to the stash, aigoo!) So I’m watching them (very slowly).
~ Conspiracy in the Court… with fabulous new subs!
~ Eight Days… WITHS2′s 88th completed project!
~ Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. (My recent blog post is self-explanatory, lol. Am rewatching it whenever I can since I still can’t get enough.)
Thundie, I’m rewatching Piano right now and I have to say I totally understand why the other pal of yours hates it so much. Now that I’m watching it for the 2nd time, I’m finding it difficult to get through because it’s tragic, depressing and it has a lot of jo-pok (Korean organized gang) scenes which I mostly fastforward. And some characters are just so irritating. But it’s got some great moments and the drama itself is really moving. Han Jae-soo, the character Go Soo plays, is one of the best (well, rather angelic) characters in K-drama. I think Piano is worth watching at least once just for his character. I hope you’ll at least give it a shot.
Hi amy
Oops, sorry for the late reply.
I’ll definitely watch Piano. That’ll make Dahee very happy, haha, since she loves this drama to pieces. I remember the OST was lovely. I also need to see Go-soo in something else other than Green Rose.
OK, what else have I been watching that I have not talked about? Ah, The Count of Myeongdong! Has anyone caught this docu-drama yet? WITHS2 is subbing it (translator is none other than misterX). I’m really enjoying it because it combines two of my great loves: history and literature. Fantastic writing about real people and events in the Myeongdong of the 1950s.
Yes please do watch Piano. I would love to see your review on it.
I just finished watching Age of Innocence for Go-soo (It originally aired around the same time ROYOW aired so I had totally ditched this drama at the time cuz YDG from ROYOW was all I could think of back then
). Man.. Go Soo is super attractive in Age of Innocence. Of course I LOVED him in Piano as the pure and angelic Han Jae-soo and also liked him in Green Rose, but in Age of Innocence, he’s so manly and intense. You will totally see a different side of him in it-a bit of bad boy image- which makes him so sexy. The drama itself…. pxssed me off. After a certain point, I was pretty much skipping through all the episodes. I like Kim Min-hee. I’ve liked her since Juliet’s Man. But her character in this drama is as bad as Sujung from What happened in Bally. I could stand it until ep 13 or 14 when it got really bad. I’m so baffled by the ending. But watch it for Go Soo! It does have some really nice romantic scenes that took away the thirst I felt watching Piano for the scarcity of skin contact between Go Soo and his love interest. But to get to those scenes…. you will need extra amount of patience.
On a side note, don’t watch Marrying a Millionaire. I watched it cuz I like both Kim Hyun-joo and Go Soo, but it was a major bore. I stayed with it till the end hoping something exciting would come up, but no. Consistently boring. Go Soo’s character is so bland. I hope he would never ever do such drama again.)
LOL, Thundie, I loved “Piano” back when it first aired (it made me cry a river), but I don’t know what my opinion on it would be today. I’m kinda scared to rewatch it, out of fear that I’ll end up ruining my fond memories of it. I do think, however, that it’s worth watching just for Jo Jae Hyun’s wonderful performance alone. He OWNS this drama.
Amy, “Age of Innocence” was soooo irritating, wasn’t it? Ugh, Kim Min Hee’s character in it!! *clutches head* The ending literally made me throw a pillow at the T.V., too. It was just…baffling. I couldn’t accept it at all. I watched all of it for Go Soo, however – I really liked him back then, thanks to “Piano”.
What am I watching right now? A few things, actually:
Just Looking aka That Fool: This is not a well-made drama, and yet it’s strangely entertaining – mostly, I’m sure, because of Hwang Jung Min’s wonderful performance. The most recent episodes, especially, have been cute on the romance front. It’s good comfort food. I wish I had a guy like Dong-baek in my life…T_T
Queen Seondeok: Saw the first two episodes, and am planning on continuing. It’s okay so far – nothing spectacular, but nothing unbearable, either, which is all that I can ask for at this point, really. I’m just waiting for all the characters to grow up, so that I can see Uhmforce.
I’m also planning on continuing with “Job Well Done” and “The Slingshot”. I’m currently debating over whether or not to continue with “Strike Love” – it didn’t exactly fire up my imagination, I’m afraid, even if it was decent.
On the J-dorama front, I’m watching “Shiroi Haru” (Abe Hiroshi’s currently airing dorama, which has the same directors and writer as “Kekkon Dekinai Otoko) and “At Home Dad”. The latter I’m enjoying in a kind of frothy, cotton candy-ish way, while the former I’m really starting to get very into. Episode five had some really lovely moments, and Abe Hiroshi’s acting is spectacular, as usual.
Oh Amy, don’t mention Lee Soo-jung (Ha Ji-won) in What Happened in Bali. I just want to throttle her for trifling with Jisub’s feelings and making him cry! (Psst, you be on Jisub’s side or Jo In-sung’s? ^^)
When I see Age of Innocence, all I can think of is Age of Warriors and how much I want to watch it (for Ha Jung-woo)… arrgghh, no subs! Sorry, Go-soo, you’re no match for the Ha Virus.
I heard (from Dahee, maybe) that Marrying a Millionaire was terrible. (or was it terrific? oops, ze memory…)
Dahee, That Fool or Slingshot is next on my list. Just want to check out the first two eppies to see if they’re worth continuing. I see from the tweets that That Fool (the character, not the drama title ^^) is making our WITHS2ers swoon.
I’m so behind with Job Well Done, too, aigoo. Where have you stopped?
Working on Ep 2 subs now for Queen Seondeok. Ep 1 was quite good. I thought the story was well-written with a lot of depth. I may decide to blog about it, so I won’t be too detailed for now, but it was fun stuff. Exciting and quite spectacular.
I’m waiting for Shiroi Haru to be fully subbed before I start on it. Abe Hiroshi needs to be watched like one possessed, eyes glued to the screen, tongue hanging out, drool everywhere. ^^ Two more weeks, and The Man Who Can’t Get Married starts!
Love your “Prattle,” Thundie… very organized, and I feel very welcomed just as I do on jisub addicts.
Happy to always share my thoughts and current watching condition in my KDRAMA obsession.
Okay, so I have also finally ventured into Jdoramas^_^. I will take notes on titles such as those listed by daheefanel.
Let’s see, back to “what I’m currently reading^_^… watching”:
2nd time Cain and Abel
Job Well Done (fun to see how many of you are watching it as well!!! only on episode 7…)
Insoon Is Pretty (fell upon this title and saw the female lead connected me to So Ji Sub^_^… Glass Slippers lead… liking the male lead as well!^_^)
Oh, and I read that you, thundie, were rewatching Goodbye Solo back in April. Congrats on that being your first WithS2 project! That was the first drama that I felt like I was venturing out to some thing a little different than what I expected from a drama. It was slow at times and emotionally dark (in regards to characters feeling the downer side of things), but it was also very engaging in some unforeseen way. I remember the opening surprised me the most when Chun Jung Myung was I believe in his unders^_^.
Yoon So Yi from Goodbye Solo… just looked up her name to see if I recognized any of her work (maybe I’ll watch Several Questions that Make You Happy).
And this is how I get going on starting so many dramas at one time… finding out an actor/actress’s name and then stumbling upon a title which eventually leads me to a MU dl address^_^
and on the side also rewatching Nobuta wo Produce while just starting Code Blue (hum, do you think Yamapi has any thing to do with it).
Hi sinloithuong!
So good to see you here. Thank you for being so enouraging, as always.
You’re watching Cain and Abel a second time? That’s a true Jisub addict! *hangs head in shame* What are your thoughts on the drama?
I liked Insoon is Pretty at first but dropped it after 7-8 episodes. Thought the leads had good chemistry; just didn’t enjoy the plot. How many episodes have you finished?
Ah, Yoon So-yi. Liked her lots in Goodbye Solo (I just adore the drama and cast), but the last drama (Auction House) I watched of her I really disliked her acting. Or maybe I was expecting too much, oops.
I hope you’ll keep sharing what you’re watching. Thanks and have a great weekend!
Hi!
personally, i have to watch a kdrama twice to really enjoy it. if i don’t get moved on the first run, that’s it. but usually a second pass is necessary when i “feel” the story.
so, i watched cain & abel 3 times over a 2-week period (had to take leave from work for this! but worth it!).
the first time just to “absorb” sojisub (regretfully, a belated discovery as an excellent actor, but the obsession is building up. the second time was to get an over-all feel of the story which is somewhat difficult because i had to reckon with the subtitles. and the third time was just to view the whole thing without even looking at the subs and just relied on the actors’ faces for the mood.
i used to enjoy watching krw-because he gets into the role so well the viewer forgets the actor, and ji hyun woo who is totally underrated (that’s why i really appreciate ms dahee for having cited him in his role in my sweet seoul in one of her earlier articles). i used to look out for only these two actors, and i’ve watched all their dramas/films (except for insadong scandal which i-don’t-know-when-will reach-me).
so sojisub was a pleasant re-discovery which makes me glad that i watched c & a, otherwise i would not now be tearing up on i’m sorry i love you which i found in my stash of unwatched dvds. in my early days as a kdrama veiwer (2yrs back) i had seen him in glass slippers/glass shoes (?) but while i remembered the acting, i forgot the name. so i’m now backtracking, just like what i did with all of krw’s and jhw’s dramas. i was raving about sojisub’s acting (and looks) at the office recently when i was interrupted by a staff member who reminded me that i wasn’t that impressed with him before. so why is it that i have his blown up face in my desk top (replacing that beautiful shot of jhw as yoon tae oh)?
cheers!
^_^… still watching “Cain and Abel” (on episode 18). Savoring it the second time around whereas the first time I gobbled it up like it was Thanksgiving dinner. I understand your process, piswe.
Still just as good when it was gobbled up… even resulting to watching the last two episodes online because I was too impatient to wait for WithS2′s subs^_^.
This time around, I am surprised at how many little details I forgot already, so I am enjoying Sojisub much much! I can’t actually keep track of how many time I was sitting there and voiced outloud, “poor sojisub”… “he is such a good actor”… “look at that one tear; now that’s talent” ^_^.
I am continuing to watch Jdorama “Code Blue” at a slow rate (only on episode 2. I realize how different the medical scenes are filmed compared to Cain and Abel. Although less realistic, I am okay with that considering “I’m a wincer”-I wince at the sight of blood^_^).
Okay, and I have to totally agree with you, thundie, on “Insoon is Pretty.” Although I pride myself on trying to finish a drama once I start it especially if I have passed the 3-5 episode mark (except for “Lovers in Harvard” and “Romance”… got past episode 10 on each of them… then moved on), I have to say that I may have to let this off at the way side. I have enjoyed seeing Kim Min Joon for my first time. He’s gentle to the eyes… that smile is quite captivating.
But the fact that I’m on episode 4 and “Insoon” has not stopped worrying about her “crime” which I know some time down the road it will be revealed that it wasn’t her fault and that she was feeling guilty all this time for no good reason… okay, I may just keep watching it to see what happens.^_^
I just saw that Kim Min Joon is in “Ireland.” There I go again, looking up names and connecting myself to another drama to watch. I recently learned that “Hyun Bin” is in that drama as well. Any remarks on “Ireland?” ^_^ Would it be a good one to watch until “Friend, Our Legend” is released?
Let’s see, so for now I think I’ll go back to “Job Well Done” (currently on episode 8)… I hope they reveal this storyline around the “affair”… the marriage that has yet to really be revealed. And a bit more about Chae Rim… her past boyfriend and his feelings. Maybe I should just watch it and stop anticipating absent the drama^_^.
Watching:
“Job Well Done” anticipation of gooey storylines unfolding!
“Cain and Abel” savoring the acting (one line tears and smiles!… kisses too!/ and Shin Hyun Joon… can’t get over how well he preforms those tough medical conditions his body undergoes)
“Code Blue” not to the 3-5 episode mark to really see what this drama has to offer^_^… yamapi quite distant (some thing behind that gloom cloud he carries)
Funny, piswe^_^… SJS “so why is it that I have his blown up face in my desk top”…
I have one of Hyun Bin and Lee Yeon Hee on my desktop… I made it as I was converting their movies to .mp4^_^. Chae Jung Ahn caught my eye in “Cain and Abel” as well… recently watching kmovie “Hello, Schoolgirl” with her as a lead.
desktop wallie^_^ http://img.skitch.com/20090611-qir3bx4kqiuyt3fnepp5mg8fjx.jpg
Did you see the trailers for Boat and National Atheletes? They’re really impressive.. really make me want to watch the movies. HJW shines~~
Have you seen this picture? http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo110/picperfect_album/1200541327_3e9936f2_dsffsd.jpg
He’s so goofy ㅋㅋㅋ
Hi there.
I want to ask some suggestion. Between That Fool, BL, City Hall, Job Well’s Done, A Man’s Story and others dramas that aired now, which is the most greatest and promising?
I’m really stuck now.
I’m watching City Hall up to ep 5 now. Try watching SoL but not hooked enough. Watching Queen just starting episode 1.
I needed a drama that can hold me till the end. I have lots of drama that I stopped in the middle. I love something depth, inspiring and subtle love.
Thanks.
P/s: I don’t like cliche, or shallow plot. Great acting and natural romance will help too.
Thanks Thunde!
Thanks, piswe and sinloithuong, for your meaty comments. LOVE them! Please keep them coming.
Oops, amy, I haven’t seen the trailers for Ha Jung-woo’s latest movies. I tend to avoid trailers the way I avoid spoilers. Just a silly idiosyncrasy. But I have no doubt he’s adorable. Is he ever not adorable? Hehe… Btw, I’m so happy to announce I now have every single one of HJW’s movies, the ones that have been released. YES! Picked up She’s On Duty a few weeks ago, and just yesterday I stumbled on Breath in the store. I know his roles in both are small, but still, I have them all! Now if only I can watch him in Age of Warrior… X gave me a screencap of HJW in Age of Warrior and he’s soooooooo cute!
Hi anastassia
Of the titles you mention, Brilliant Legacy is the only one I’m religiously following. I’m really enjoying BL (you can check out my recaps, haha). It’s sweet, funny, romantic… It’s not cliche-free, but it remixes the usual romcom elements and presents them in a fresh and delightful way.
I definitely plan to watch That Fool soon. Lots of people love it. Not sure about Story of a Man; watched a teeny bit and didn’t like it. I stopped Job Well Done after a few episodes and simply haven’t had time to pick it up again. No idea how the story’s developing. Maybe Dahee can update us if she’s still folllowing it.
Update on sinloithuong’s drama watch^_^… I kept hearing about “Boys Over/Before Flowers,” but even when I attempted to watch it, I just wasn’t getting past the first scene where the young man was getting beaten up at his own school, BUT…
for the past two weeks, I can’t seem to find time NOT to watch it^_^. I have lots to say, but I do not know the lead roles’ real names or the spelling off the top of my head of the character names, but I will say “Fighting”… ^_^ I’m on episode 19. Basically, I like the relationships that arise… soft hearts seen in “make me smile like a kid again” ways.
Oh, and I think I mentioned how I was about to leave “Insoon is Pretty” alone. Yep, I stopped around episode 5. INSTEAD I was connected back to “Glass Slipper” once again when I saw Jun Pyo’s sister^_^ on BOF so I’m feeling okay about dropping “Insoon is Pretty.” ^_^
As for Job Well Done, well, I have to say I was thinking, hum, am I just watching this because I am already this far along. THEN EPISODE 28 came along, and now I’m just anxiously awaiting subs^_^ episode 31-32 out. It took JWD a while to get to a certain climax, but reasonable enough considering there is suppose to be 50 episodes^_^.
Both BOF and JWD totally different but I relate to each of them emotionally in different ways.
Well, I’ve definitely prattled. Thank you! Take care!
Hey Thundie, I see that you’ve already watched My Scary Girl… It’s a scene from the film on your banner ayt?
After watching it, I hope to read your review… hihihi (hope you’ll make one)… (n__n)
Hi sinloithuong
Ah, BOF. I really should try and watch at least a couple of episodes so that I can include it in my year-end review. It’s high time I check out the Lee Min-ho fuss for myself, right?
Hi Sly!
I LOVE My Scary Girl, but I watched it a long time ago and have forgotten most of it. I hope to rewatch it soon and when I do I’ll definitely write about it. Park Yong-woo is adorable.
